I didn't know Jenna Marbles before reading this piece and I'm glad to see that she is stepping back in order to reflect on the work she clearly needs to do in order to "redeem" herself as a public persona - if that is even a thing, really. The fact that she recognised how much she messed up shows a willingness to undo some of her wrongs and that is all good and well, but not every cancelled public figure has the privilege to pause and prepare a comeback. Some of these problematic people are still out there, having a platform and justifying their every move with a simple "it's not what you think". No need to cite names, we know them and see them all the time. Also, not every problematic person will have the courage to admit they were wrong because at some point, it suits them better to ignore it altogether.
